E-Commerce Store

Lakeland Paints is a UK eco-paint workshop with an online store that sells a variety of wall paint and varnish materials for homes.

Lakeland paints contains:

  • No VOCs.

  • No Heavy Metals.

  • No Solvents.

  • No Bad Stuff.

There are Tate Gallery, Greenpiece, and Westminster Abbey among LakeLand Paints clients.

The store owners contacted our team for assistance in building a new, fast website for their business.

About project

Lakeland Paints is our long-lasting project. Our developers have worked on this project from time to time over the last few years.

In 2014 we started with the CS-Cart theme integration of the provided mockups and then continued with a number of improvements to let website customers choose the necessary paint easier.

In 2022 we started our development process, and in 3 months, we succeeded in building a fast and secure online store with the help of the ecosystem "JamStack" (CMS Storyblok + Next js (Tailwind) + CS-Cart platform for the admin panel).

In 2014 we started with the integration of the provided mockups and then continued with a number of improvements to let customers choose the necessary paint easier.

The creation of separate pages using the mockups allows to see all the colors and then specify a paint type/finish and other features.

In 2021, the client had an urgent need to improve the website's performance and stability during the sale period. Our team offered to build the paint store online according to the JamStack method. Due to our commercial offer, the client weighed the pros and cons of this modern technology and agreed to invest in rebuilding his website.

Our team also developed the Product Pricing Calculator for the Lakeland Paints store. Now all clients can calculate how much paint they need with the help of this paint calculator, which provides different figures for each paint/varnish type.

The Product Pricing Calculator has a convenient functionality that allows users to type in their own product measurements and get a price according to them. That’s why it is a must-have solution for online stores selling products with custom dimensions — fabrics, building materials, blinds, carpets, banners, etc.

In 2022, we started our development process, and in 3 months, we succeeded in building a fast and secure paint store online with the help of the ecosystem "JamStack" (CMS Storyblok + Next js (Tailwind) + CS-Cart platform for the admin panel). This innovative approach to e-commerce development pushed the website into the green zone for desktops and mobile devices in Google PageSpeed Insights.

In 2019, our SEO specialist performed an SEO audit of their website. It was a special account audit using Google Analytics that enabled us to make the conclusion with determined ideas. The main ones are: a steady number of visitors in the traffic statistics; moderate growth in the percentage of returning visitors during the last 6 months; around 60% of visitors use mobile devices and tablets to browse the web store; 90% of website visitors are UK residents; and other items.

Also, our SEO specialist made some recommendations on how to promote and increase traffic to it.

Among them are:

  1. Improve the website's performance.

  2. Set up more funnel goals. It’s better to use Google Tag Manager to set up more detailed goals, such as clicking on the buttons or viewing the video.

  3. Set up traffic filters in Google Analytics.

  4. When developing new design features, test them thoroughly on Apple and Samsung devices.

  5. Revise the design for product pages. These pages have a very high bounce rate, and you should motivate visitors to visit other website pages if they don’t like the product on the product page and want to quit the website.

  6. Revise the meta tags on product pages.

  7. Change the ad settings in order to bring in more profit. Obviously, the ads could be set up better. This will help to attract only the target audience.

First of all, it was necessary to define the ways of cooperation between our team and the client. We are always ready to contact our customers using different convenient methods, that’s why it was not a big problem to find an appropriate way for communication.

Our team has vast experience working with design integration. So, after a detailed discussion of the necessary tasks, our developers integrated the provided mockups on a highly professional level.

Creation of the new functions

Apart from performing the discussed tasks, some new ideas and modifications were defined during the cooperation. For example, the Product Pricing Calculator was developed for the convenience of the Lakeland Paints store clients.

Results: What we have at the end of the project

Lakeland Paints is one of our enduring projects. We spent 3 months working on different interesting tasks and cases concerning this paint store online in order to make it better and increase profits. 

Our developers completed all the tasks that were discussed on time. But then the client decided to make some modifications, including design changes. So, the specialists had to create one more project template considering the client’s mockups.
